LoveCo ("we", "our", or "us") operates the LoveCo mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

  • Authentication data: Your Apple ID (via Sign in with Apple) or email address and display name
  • Profile information: Your name, your partner's name, and relationship date (optional)

Couple Space Data

To provide our core features, we store:

  • Heartbeats: Hand-drawn love notes, photos, and messages you send to your partner, stored as image or text data
  • Moods: Emoji mood selections you share with your partner
  • Habits & Tasks: Habit names, completion records, and streak data
  • Plans & Memories: Bucket list items, date ideas, and memory photos you upload
  • Game data: Responses to couple games and quizzes
  • Daily questions: Your answers to daily relationship questions
  • Weekly recap: Aggregated weekly activity stats (heartbeats sent, habits completed, questions answered, streak data)
  • Couple streak: Consecutive days of shared activity between you and your partner

Automatically Collected Information

  • Analytics: App usage events (e.g., feature visits, button taps) collected via Firebase Analytics to improve the App
  • Crash reports: Technical crash data collected via Firebase Crashlytics to fix bugs. All personally identifiable information is scrubbed from crash reports
  • Device information: Device model, operating system version, and app version for compatibility purposes

Subscription Information

If you subscribe to LoveCo Gold, purchase and subscription data is managed by Apple and RevenueCat. We receive a subscription status (active/inactive) but do not store your payment details.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the App's features
  • Enable couple pairing and shared data between partners
  • Send push notifications about your partner's activity (heartbeats, moods, daily questions, weekly recaps, nudges)
  • Process and manage your subscription
  • Sync your subscription benefits to your partner (2-for-1 model)
  • Analyze usage patterns to improve the App
  • Fix bugs and improve stability

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

Your data is shared only in the following limited ways:

  • With your partner: Heartbeats, moods, habits, plans, daily question answers, and game responses are shared within your couple space. This is the core purpose of the App.
  • Service providers: We use Firebase (Google) for authentication, database, analytics, and crash reporting; RevenueCat for subscription management; and Apple Push Notification Service for notifications. These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy policies.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore and Cloud Storage). All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encryption. Access to couple data is restricted to the two users within a couple space through Firestore security rules.

Pairing codes used to connect partners expire after 15 minutes and are rate-limited to prevent abuse.

5. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you unpair from your partner, shared data in the couple space may be deleted. If you delete your account, your personal data will be removed from our servers.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal data stored in the App
  • Delete your account and associated data through the App's settings (Profile > Delete Account)
  • Opt out of push notifications through your device settings
  • Request a copy of your data by contacting us

7. Children's Privacy

LoveCo is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

8. Push Notifications

We send push notifications to inform you about your partner's activity (new heartbeats, mood changes, habit completions, daily question answers, weekly recaps, and nudges). You can opt out of notifications at any time through your device's Settings app or within the App's notification preferences.

9. Photos and Camera

The App requests access to your photo library only when you choose to add photos to your Memories. Photos are uploaded to secure cloud storage and shared only within your couple space. We do not access your photos for any other purpose.

10. Third-Party Services

Our App uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

  • Firebase (Google): Authentication, Firestore database, Cloud Storage, Analytics, Crashlytics, Cloud Messaging — Firebase Privacy
  • RevenueCat: Subscription management — RevenueCat Privacy
  • Apple: Sign in with Apple, App Store payments, Push Notifications — Apple Privacy

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
