LoveCo ("we", "us") runs the LoveCo iPhone app and widgets (the "App") and this website. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. We're based in the United Kingdom and follow the UK GDPR.

1. What we collect

Your account

• Sign-in: your Apple or Google sign-in (an account identifier and, if you share it, your email address).
• Profile: your name, your time zone (so we can show your partner your local time), and optionally a profile photo and your anniversary date.

What you share with your partner

• Doodles, photos and hugs you send, and your reactions and Coo stickers.
• Your answers to questions, and your picks, guesses, drawings and photos in games.
• Letters you write (including "Open when" letters and their unlock dates), tiny-date memories and their photos.
• Your status or mood when you set one.

This content is stored so your partner can receive it and so it appears in Our home. Answers and game halves stay sealed from your partner until you have both played.

Collected automatically

• Usage analytics (PostHog): which screens you open and which features you use (for example "sent a doodle" or "opened a letter"), linked to your account identifier, plus device model, iOS version and app version. We use this to understand what works and fix what doesn't.
• Session replays (PostHog): for a sample of sessions we record how the app's screens change so we can find confusing moments. Everything you type and every image is masked, so your messages, answers, doodles and photos are never captured.
• Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics): technical details when the app crashes.
• Notification tokens: so we can deliver notifications and widget updates to your devices.

On this website (getloveco.com)

• Visit counts (PostHog): we count page visits and taps on the App Store button, with the page you came from, your country (worked out from your IP address), and your device and browser type. We don't use cookies or store anything on your device for this, and we don't record your screen.
• Android "tell me when" list: if you leave your email address, we store it with PostHog and use it only to tell you when LoveCo is available on Android. Email us any time to be removed. We delete the list after the Android launch email has gone out.
• New version list: if you leave your email address to hear when the new version of LoveCo is live on the App Store, we store it with PostHog and use it only for that one email. Email us any time to be removed. We delete the list after that email has gone out.

Subscriptions

Purchases are handled by Apple and RevenueCat. We receive whether you have LoveCo Plus (active, trial or expired) so we can give it to your partner too. We never see your payment details.

2. How we use it

• To run the App: pair you, deliver what you send, show your partner's status and time, update widgets and send notifications.
• To give LoveCo Plus to both partners when one of you subscribes.
• To improve the App, using usage analytics, session replays and crash reports.
• To keep LoveCo safe, for example blocking a former partner.

Our legal bases are performing our contract with you (running the App) and our legitimate interest in improving and securing it. For the Android and new version email lists, it is your consent, which you can withdraw any time by emailing us.

3. Who else processes your data

We don't sell, rent or trade your personal data. These providers process it on our behalf:

• Google Firebase: sign-in, database, file storage, server functions, notifications and crash reports.
• PostHog: product analytics and masked session replays in the App, visit counts and the Android and new version email lists on this website.
• RevenueCat and Apple: subscriptions.
• Apple Push Notification service: notifications and widget updates.

Some of these providers store data outside the UK (for example in the United States) under appropriate safeguards. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.

4. Security

Data is sent over encrypted connections and stored with Google Firebase. Security rules limit a couple's content to the two members of that couple. Invite links are single-use.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account exists. If you unpair, your shared space is kept for 30 days in case you pair with the same person again, then deleted. If you delete your account, your personal data is removed from our servers.

6. Your rights

• Delete your account and data: Settings, then Delete my account.
• Access, correct, or get a copy of your data, or object to analytics: email us.
• Turn off notifications any time in iOS Settings.
• You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

7. Age

LoveCo is for people aged 16 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If you think someone under 16 has used LoveCo, contact us and we'll delete the account.

8. Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the App.
