Your space is just for the two of you. What you write, draw, photograph, and share is between you and your partner.
No ads. No selling your data. We don't share with advertisers, sell it, or trade it. Ever.
We use collective signals to improve LoveCo. Aggregate usage numbers help us make the app better. We're not interested in any one couple's content.
You can delete everything. One tap in Settings → Delete Account removes your data from our servers.
The detailed sections below are the legal version of the same thing — Apple requires us to publish them. Read on if you want the specifics.
LoveCo ("we", "our", or "us") operates the LoveCo mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Authentication data: Your Apple ID (via Sign in with Apple), Google account, or email address and display name
- Profile information: Your name, your partner's name, profile photo (optional), and anniversary date (optional)
- Onboarding preferences: Your daily-time commitment tier (a self-reported "minutes per day" preference used to personalize prompt frequency) and quiz responses about your relationship
Couple Space Data
To provide our core features, we store:
- Heartbeats: Hand-drawn doodles, photos, and short text notes you send to your partner, stored as image or text data
- Daily prompts: Your answers to the daily prompt across three modes (text, photo, heartbeat) and the partner's matching response when revealed
- Async game threads: Questions and answers for couple games (Would You Rather, This or That, Quiz, Predict Each Other, Two-Vote) and any in-thread chat messages
- Moods: Emoji mood selections and optional labels you share with your partner
- Habits: Habit names, day-of-week schedule, completion records, and streak data
- Plans: Plan titles, target dates, optional cover images, and completion state
- Together feed events: A chronological record of shared activity (prompt responses, heartbeats, habit streak milestones, plan milestones, anniversaries)
- Couple streak: Consecutive days where both partners were active
- Pair-merge data: When two solo users pair up, eligible solo data (heartbeats, plans, habits, past-date daily prompts) is migrated into the shared couple space. Today's daily prompts are reset to a fresh shared question.
Automatically Collected Information
- Analytics: App usage events (e.g., onboarding step entry/exit, paywall views, purchase events, activation milestones, screen views) collected via Firebase Analytics to improve the App. We use first-occurrence flags (e.g., is_first_doodle, is_first) so we can measure activation rates without tracking individual users beyond aggregate cohorts.
- Crash reports: Technical crash data collected via Firebase Crashlytics to fix bugs. All personally identifiable information is scrubbed from crash reports
- Device information: Device model, operating system version, and app version for compatibility purposes
Subscription Information
If you subscribe to LoveCo Premium, purchase and subscription data is managed by Apple and RevenueCat. We receive a subscription status (active/inactive/in-trial) and the subscriber's user identifier so we can extend Premium benefits to a paired partner. We do not store your payment details.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the App's features
- Enable couple pairing and shared data between partners
- Send push notifications about your partner's activity (heartbeats, moods, daily prompts, game-thread updates, anniversary nudges, partner-inactivity nudges)
- Process and manage your subscription, including extending Premium benefits to a paired partner
- Sync your subscription benefits to your partner (2-for-1 model)
- Personalize prompt frequency and copy based on your stated commitment tier
- Analyze usage patterns and activation funnels to improve the App
- Fix bugs and improve stability
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
Your data is shared only in the following limited ways:
- With your partner: Heartbeats, moods, habits, plans, daily prompt answers, async game thread answers, and Together feed events are shared within your couple space. This is the core purpose of the App.
- Service providers: We use Firebase (Google) for authentication, database, analytics, and crash reporting; RevenueCat for subscription management; and Apple Push Notification Service for notifications. These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy policies.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore and Cloud Storage). All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encryption. Access to couple data is restricted to the two users within a couple space through Firestore security rules.
Pairing codes used to connect partners expire after 15 minutes and are rate-limited to prevent abuse.
5. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you unpair from your partner, shared data in the couple space may be deleted. If you delete your account, your personal data will be removed from our servers.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data stored in the App
- Delete your account and associated data through the App's settings (Profile > Delete Account)
- Opt out of push notifications through your device settings
- Request a copy of your data by contacting us
7. Children's Privacy
LoveCo is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
8. Push Notifications
We send push notifications to inform you about your partner's activity (new heartbeats, mood changes, habit completions, daily prompt answers, async game thread activity, anniversary milestones, and partner-inactivity nudges). You can opt out of notifications at any time through your device's Settings app or within the App's notification preferences.
9. Photos and Camera
The App requests access to your camera and photo library when you choose to send a photo heartbeat, attach a photo to a plan, or answer a photo-mode daily prompt. Photos are uploaded to secure cloud storage and shared only within your couple space. We do not access your photos for any other purpose.
10. Third-Party Services
Our App uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
